Lamb

Our lamb is from the human-consumption food chain. Supply is seasonal - we get decent numbers in May, but our best supply is from August to November.

There is a huge overseas market for New Zealand lamb, so it is a constant challenge for us to maintain ample levels of product. This means that sometimes our supplies run low and our costs run higher.

Lamb is a good source of:

  • vitamin K - for appropriate blood clotting, and for bone health
  • zinc - critical for skin function and wound healing
  • selenium - an important antioxidant
