Raw chicken bones are a great natural source of protein, fat and calcium. Chicken frames are especially good for dogs because they are packed with nutrients and are a relatively soft bone. Chicken necks are only suitable for cats and small dogs due to their small size.
Cats and dogs can safely eat raw chicken. The risk of Salmonella is a common concern among pet owners who are thinking of switching to a raw diet. But healthy animals deal with large amounts of bacteria (just like they would in the wild). Stomach acid, bile and gut microbes control bacteria like Salmonella. A raw-fed pet's stomach is highly acidic and there aren’t many organisms that can survive it. But as with all raw meat products it is important to follow proper food safety.
