Hare is the ultimate sustainable pet food! Hare are noxious pests that were introduced to New Zealand in the 1830s for food and sport. Our hare are shot in pest control efforts by MPI accredited hunters who work within a strict programme to ensure no overlap (temporally or geographically) with poison drops. But hare mince and bones are a very seasonal product (more readily available in Summer) so may not be available all year around.
